2025 Fukuoka Hydrangea Guide

In Japan, June brings to mind colorful hydrangeas (ajisai) blooming in the gentle, continuous rain.

What makes hydrangeas so enchanting is how their colors change over time—from light to deep hues, from pale blue to purplish-red—each stage possessing a unique charm. Their blooming season lasts about a month, so whether it's the delicate first blossoms in early June or the full sea of flowers at the end of the month, the beauty is mesmerizing.
